From ledgers to launches
Started in accounting
He spent years in audit and compliance, reading other people’s books and seeing how businesses really worked behind the scenes. It was a pretty good place to learn what makes a business work and what doesn’t.
The spreadsheet problem
Almost every business had that one file. The one holding everything together. And usually, only one person knew how it worked. He kept thinking: surely there’s a better way to do this.
Learned to build it instead
He couldn’t find tools that quite fit what businesses actually needed - or what they could reasonably afford. So, instead of waiting for the right one to appear, he figured he’d try building it himself.
First tool that shipped
The first one was a quoting tool that turned an hour of manual work into something much simpler. It worked. People used it. And honestly, seeing something he’d built still running today felt pretty good.
BuildYume, made official
What started with a few ideas and a willingness to figure things out became a real business - with a name, a process, and tools that actually help business work.
